Quilting for Beginners – Premium Workshop
Quilting for Beginners
Join us on Wednesday, July 23 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the CommunityWise Resource Centre for a creative, beginner-friendly sewing workshop hosted by Threads That Thrive.
You’ll either make a reusable sandwich bag, mug rug, or mini fabric box…OR if you’re feeling creative, you’ll make a small quilted wall hanging that features a word or phrase that grounds or affirms you. We’ll start with a short reflection exercise to help you choose your word, then move into fabric layout, cutting, and slow stitching inspired by visible mending and sashiko techniques. This workshop is open to all skill levels — no prior sewing experience is needed.
All materials are provided, and sewing machines will be available for those who want to use them.
Tickets are sliding scale:
- $15 – Regular Price
- $20 – Community Support Price (helps us offer free spots for folks who need them)
A limited number of sponsored spots are available for those facing financial barriers — please contact us to request one.
